Ross was born and raised in Indiana and, like a true Hoosier, went to IU for his undergrad. As law school was approaching, Ross' friend told him about a children's camp for sustainability on Catalina Island. A few months later, Ross was a boat captain for the camp and biking down the California coast while studying harder to learn about environmentalism than for the LSAT. When he returned to Indiana, he launched Tastings Wine Bar & Bistro with his family in the adjourning space to Conrad Indianapolis. At the time, he knew little about wine and had never run a business, but is now managing two Tasting's locations.
